Review

This review applies to version 2.9 The latest version of this software will soon be reviewed by our informers.

Almost all computer users have personal data which they don’t want to share with others. Such data should be carefully secured especially if one's computer is used by other persons. Hide Folders XP 2.9 is a perfect tool for providing such protection. It uses a mechanism of hiding folders and a privacy lock to control the access to secured folders. Program’s main window is the center of your data protection and you can open it only using a special password. It consists of a toolbar, a list of protected folders and a status bar. Here you can also enable a tip box which shows useful tips about this software. The list consists of folders which you choose to be protected. There are three ways of protection that can be assigned to any folder: hide, lock, hide and lock. "Hide" method makes a secured folder invisible for a user, but you can open it if you know the correct path to it. "Lock" method makes a folder visible but it can’t be opened. "Hide and lock" method makes a protected folder invisible and inaccessible. Hide Folders XP 2.9 has a very convenient interface and is a brilliant candidate for being a protector of your personal information.
Advantages
  • Easy-to-use interface.
  • Great protection.
Disadvantages
  • Only one skin.
